Mudmen clay figurines were produced around the turn of the century in the Shiwan and Wanjiang area of the Guongdong Province in China. Mostly used in Bonsai gardens or as back drops in fish tanks, these tiny clay images of ancient scholars are poised in various positions. Glazed in vibrant colors of blue, green and yellow with the exposed skin left in natural clay form, each one was handmade and unique.
